I am Mary Harshall and I have the great privilege of
working with the teachers and students
here at St. Joe's as they learn to use and integrate
technology within their teaching and learning.
Am I still Loving this job after17 years?
ABSOLUTELY. I hope I have another 17
What fascinates me about this job?
I am never bored. Just about the time I think I
know all there is to know...I find a new web site or am inspired by
a new project and I get fired up and away I go! There is
always something new to learn!
Some thoughts about being an educator of children
A Chinese Proverb
states: "A Child's life is like a piece of paper on
which every passerby leaves a mark." I hope to
leave a positive mark on each student that passes
through my computer lab door and hopefully be "scribbled"
on in the process.
How has
technology changed since I first started this job?
We have Internet and
GOOGLE now. There are no more Floppy disks!
Do I have
a life outside of School?
Yes, believe it or
not I can do other things besides working on a computer.
I have a very patient, loving husband, 4 beautiful daughters, a
totally handsome son and 5 absolutely adorable
grandchildren. I love it when everyone is home and
there is a ton of chaos. I love when I see the
headlights come and then again when they go! ... so I
can rest!
I spend time creating
cards, knitting, sewing and digging in the dirt. I love to walk and
ride my bike... although I look ridiculous in a helmet.
Cooking shows are about all that I watch. I am a "wanna
be" GOOD COOK.
