Second Graders at Springfield Convent Junior school in Cape Town, South Africa read the Water Hole by Graeme Base and then created Kidspiration diagrams as an extension of the story. The project was created in participation with KIDSPIRED TALES, an online collaborative project that was created by Susan Silverman. The above site contains a link to download the template that was used. You could adapt this for ANY book!

Kathleen Wilson, New Jersey Department of Education Technology Fellowship recipient, created this page about concept mapping and INSPIRATION as part of a web site that is dedicated to helping teachers use technology as a tool to integrate into the curriculum. It explains a lot about CONCEPT mapping, when to use it, how to evaluate, it etc. Even though the examples and focus is INSPIRATION you can apply the ideas to KIDSPIRATION.
